In 1948 Castle Hills became the Maternity Hospital serving Berwick and District. Many local people were born here or had their children here and we plan to keep a book recording the names and date of birth of all the babies born at Castle Hills.
When Castle Hills ceased to be a Hospital Major Jack Askew gave the House to his son Henry who sold it in 1988 to Wendy Ponnelle who in turn sold it to Mr & Mrs Jimenez who ran Castle Hills as a guest house………………………………..
In Nov 2000 Patricia and Philip Miller acquired the house. The plan is to restore and furnish the House as it would have been when extended in the 1830’s
